My Near-Death Experience (NDE) and the Aftermath
I drowned in a tank of frigid water, when I was almost three. At the beginning there was darkness since the tank was deep and very dark, and then a soft light, like the light of a candle was lit and it illuminated my whole watery surrounding, I saw bubbles surrounded by light which made me look around to find my lifeless body. I was then lifted and carried by flowers blooming from nowhere in a forward direction towards a very soft and soothing light. Next, I appeared at the maid's room and then saw my mom walking and running back home. This was followed by the scenery of the city streets, the people and the mountains; wherever, I put my mind I went until all of a sudden, I was engulfed by an absolute pure, intense and bright light. I realized that I was also made of that same pure bright light. I learned that before I was born as Ingrid I was a Being of Light and then the whole experience became very familiar to me. I became aware that this was not the first time I had been in the realm of the light. I had been there many other times and it felt like going back home. Note that everything I witnessed about the maid and my mom’s whereabouts were confirmed to me later.
When I was out of my body and in the realm of the light I reached a state where I had absolute clarity of who I was in essence, and learned that I was a being made of pure bright light. Although I was too young at the time of the experience the level of clarity I gained made it impossible for me to ever forget the experience. I was also born as a very sick and fragile baby and was sick during my infancy. During the NDE I felt such a state of well being which caused such an impact in my mind that it made it impossible for me to forget. The contrast between being sick for three years and suddenly completely free from sickness was beyond anything I could forget. Besides, not long after I started to have out-of-body experiences that allowed me to go back to that same state as when I nearly died.
I was more conscious and alert than normal. I could hear, see and sense everything with absolute clarity. I could be anywhere at any time and I could comprehend and know things that I had never learned before in my short three years of life. I was one with everything. I was the essence of everything. There was no need of explanations.
Yes, an afterlife definitely exists. I became aware that I had always existed and what was happening at that moment was normal. The whole experience was familiar to me; there was nothing to be fearful for. It was like returning home. At some point I became completely aware that I didn't have a defined form but I was still a being. I was completely alive. There is no death, there is only life.
After I left my body I experienced a state bliss, peace, joy, freedom, well-being, amazement, and the more I advanced into the experience I felt absolute serenity. It is hard to explain but the more I was there the less I felt anything until there were no emotions. I experienced a state of nothingness (absence of color, form, sound, feeling or meaning).
No, I never thought about coming back. When my mom pulled my lifeless body out of the water, several minutes had passed. My lips were blue, my body cold, my skin pale and I had no pulse. She was trained in CPR so she pushed her fingers into my little chest and blew air into my lungs until I began choking and gurgling. I don’t remember feeling anything when she was trying to revive me; by that time I was far away, merged into a blissful state of being. Suddenly I was falling, as if I had jumped from the top of the tallest high-rise in the world, feeling as if I was being sucked back into my body like it was a vacuum. Then came the return of the intense, agonizing cold, I knew that I was back.
Yes, there was nothing that was not love. It is not the love that we know on earth. It doesn't have to do anything with feelings. It is a Universal principle. It is like when you cannot breath and now everything is air. It is the essence of everything. It is what we are. I don't know if I would call it love, or bliss, or peace, or oneness; it is simply an indescribable sense of belonging to everything, of being everything, of being at home.
The NDE affected my life greatly. The beginning of the awakening of my conscious awareness came to me the day I drowned in that tank of frigid water when I was almost three. During my NDE, I experienced myself as a Being of Light and realized that I was much more than my physical form. After returning I felt detached from my body and knew that my biological parents where not really my parents. I didn’t feel like a child anymore and preferred to be with adults. Soon after I started to have out-of-body experiences and to see and communicate with Beings of Light (BOL) and through time I discovered that I have extrasensory perception and psychic abilities that I have been able to use to access higher order wisdom to help others. But I have not done this alone I have been guided throughout my whole life by the BOL. However, my path has not been easy. For most of my life I felt different and alone and unable to relate with most people. When I was five the BOL said to me, “Someday your experience will talk for you.” Today the meaning of this message is clear to me, that my hardships are enabling me to relate and help others.
The Beings of Light (BOL)
Right after my NDE when I went to sleep I started to experience similar feelings like the ones I had during the NDE (now I know I was having out-of-body experiences - OBEs), then one day I saw myself surrounded by bright lights of different sizes and colors. When one of them shaped itself like a human form I said, “You are a Being of Light.” Afterwards they kept appearing during my OBEs and later when I was awake as well. They did not say anything to me for a while until one day I threw a big temper tantrum because of feeling detached from my body and my name. That night they said to me that it was going to take a while for anyone to understand what was happening to me, but that I didn’t need to worry because they were always with me. From then my relationship with them kept evolving and I received many invaluable teachings.
After knowing about the existence of beings like angels, archangels and ascended masters I started to ask the Beings of Light if that was what they are. According to them, in essence we are all the same (including humans). They say that we all belong to the same universal consciousness as a Whole, but that we have different levels of evolution and expansion, which bring us to have different vibrational frequencies. Highly evolved beings vibrate at very high frequencies. The only way to connect with beings that vibrate higher than us is by bringing ourselves to vibrate high as well. To me clearing the mind through breathing techniques and meditation is the easiest way to tune myself with the divine guidance. If we are able to silence our minds we can hear what is beyond our ears. By the way they also say that labels and names are not needed in the realm of the light, but if that facilitates our understanding and connection with them then we can call them whatever we want.
There are many ways in which I perceive the BOL. When I was little it was a very clear and consistent dialogue. Now it is more like downloads of information; however, I can still hear, smell, sense and even taste their presence when they want me to be aware of them or when I tune myself to connect with them. Sometimes they also do it through experiential events, books, people and nature.
We all have Spirit Guides that are always guiding us even though we are unaware of their presence. The way to gain awareness is by learning to raise our vibrational frequency and tune our self into the right channel, like a radio. Daily practices of meditation and prayer can lead us to clear our mind and bring us to the present moment where everything is taking place. As long as we are preoccupied with the past and the future we cannot see what is evolving right now before our eyes.
The greatest challenge was not to be able to communicate openly with anyone for most of my life about their existence and about the knowledge I had acquired from them. It was like keeping a secret that I literally couldn’t divulge for pure fear of being judged and bullied. I had to trust their guidance and wait until they said that I was ready only a few years ago. Even then, I was frightened, but they made it easy by guiding me to the right people and places, this process always reminds me “Let’s go slow because we are in a hurry.” On the other hand, having first hand guidance and assistance is something absolutely invaluable to me. I couldn’t completely understand it when I was younger because to me they felt like my parents so at some point in my early life, like when I was teenager looking for independence, I wanted to be on my own. Today I couldn’t be more grateful; therefore, I try to keep myself vibrating high, so I can be tuned with their unconditional love and guidance.
When I started to see spirits at the age of six I realized that the spirits and the Beings of light (BOL) where not the same. When I asked the BOL about the spirits, they explained to me that all of us including the spirits and the BOL (themselves) were the same, but that we all vibrate at different frequencies. They said that after passing over to the non-physical realm, some of these beings still have a keen interest about the matters of this world remaining attached to the realm of the physical. According to the BOL, these beings have forgotten what they truly are keeping themselves vibrating lower than other celestial beings, but someday through the help of others and experience they will remember (or what we call awaken in their True Nature).
Present Activities
Recently I have come out of the spiritual closet where I was for years because I was afraid of being bullied and ostracized, which happened to me as a young child as a result of talking about Universal Truths that people couldn’t understand at the time. When I was nineteen the Beings of Light told me that one day I was going to pass their teachings to others. Some of the first words they said to me were: “Someday your life experience will talk for you.” Today the meaning of this message is clear to me, that my hardships are enabling me to relate and help others. It brings me great joy to help others to reconnect with their inner wisdom by sharing what I have learned through my life experiences and the Beings of Light.
In 2011 after writing and reading the first page of my healing journal, which was a short summary of a NDE I had when I was almost three, I thought, This is going to be a book. For the next five years I talked about it without writing another word; then in 2015 the book started to come alive. For a few months I couldn’t stop writing no matter if it was night or day. I wrote at work, at the stores, at any side road where I stopped the car, at home, at the movies, no matter where or when, I simply wrote. It was as if the words wanted to be written and if I refused to write them they wouldn’t go away until I did. From one page to the next I ended up writing more than 150,000 words despite having a full-time career as a scientist and being a mother of a seven-year-old.
My book is a compilation of my life experiences under the guidance of Beings of Light, who have led me on a path of reconnecting with my Inner Self and rediscovering my True Nature, so I can teach to others how to do the same. The focus is not the story of Ingrid, for the world is made of many amazing stories of incredible people. My intention with this book is to guide you to discover your own Self. It is to take you beyond your personal experiences and stories, and to guide you to see that we are something beyond the form.
Although I grew up in the mountains, my love for the ocean started when my parents brought me to see it for the very first time at the age of four. I perceived it as a huge blanket and told my mom that some day I was going to find what was hidden under it. At five I told my dad, “When I grow up I am going to become a marine scientist.” I pursued my dream and went to college where I graduated as a Marine Biologist and later continued my graduate studies acquiring a Ph.D. in Marine Sciences with an emphasis in Biological Oceanography. My passion for nature and my career has brought me to be a very successful scientist in this field. Some of my work has been guided to increase awareness about the sustainable use of our natural resources. It is not about forbidding, or prohibiting it is about creating consciousness through education and action. Besides trying to create awareness about our environment, being a scientist has given me also the perfect opportunity to bring spiritual awareness to people who never would have access to it due to the false idea that science and God cannot mix. Through time it has become clear to me that we are where we have to be to fulfill a greater Universal purpose that goes beyond the needs of our ego. According to the Beings of Light, "The purpose of time and experience is to help us remember who we truly are." It doesn't always have to make sense. Half of the time the mind cannot comprehend the ways of the divine, so we just have to trust. Our main purpose is to remember who we truly are, and life will do what it takes to bring us where we need to be, and as we grow we help others along the way.
I don't follow any religion in particular; I am open-minded and love to learn about all beliefs and religions. I respect everyone's beliefs and use practices of meditation and prayers from different religions. I am compassionate and gentle and simply love to learn, give and share. While growing up I was guided by the Beings of Light to discover many different philosophies, religions and beliefs and to realize that they all share the same Universal truths, only dressed in different names, rituals and practices. Although I was raised as a Catholic, I turned away from the Catholic church at a young (age 11) because to me God was pure love and I couldn't accept the idea of sin, guilt or punishment. To me only Love is real.
Yes, soon after my NDE I started to have out-of-body experiences and to see and communicate with Beings of Light (BOL) and through time I discovered that I have extrasensory perception and psychic abilities that I have been able to use to access higher order wisdom to help others. I can see auras, energy and spirits. I have been given access to past lives and visions of the future throughout my life.
